Cape Ltd, via Auckland Council, enlisted CSL to provide 2x 20’ containers for use as a public toilet block on top of Mt Eden to replace the imperfect portable toilets presently in use at the bus/car park turnaround.

CSL provided two 20’ container as the basic shell of the new public toilet facility. The modifications team constructed the primary steel shell of the cubicles inside the container including roof vents. With our own electrician and plumber, we completed the wiring and plumbing components for this demanding project, as well as supplying the self-closing privacy doors and other top-end fittings for the toilets.

The key aspects of this build were:

  • 8 toilet cubicles (2 accessible) all fully vented
  • high-end stainless-steel toilets, tapware and fittings including hand dryers
  • industrial self-closing doors with privacy latches
  • 2 baby changing tables
  • service access/storage areas and water supply taps for cleaners

After delivery of the containers to a tricky site, due to access, Cape Ltd completed the interior and exterior linings, access ramp and landscaping. Meanwhile, CSL completed on-site graffiti proof painting along with final electrical and plumbing connections.

Now visitors to one of Auckland’s iconic viewing points have access to top-notch toilet facilities, much to the satisfaction of the main client and other local stakeholders.
